There's a bunch of new texts available for translation: the Share project dialog, and texts related to the new SD Card Manager. Thanks for everyone helping out with translations!

Hello! This is Russian translation file ru.zip

vetandrKZ commented 1 year ago

Hello. I noticed that the components in the list are not sorted alphabetically and the search in English does not work. In this the .join file has the lines sorted by the Russian alphabet "А-Я". Well, I added the translation of new elements. ru.zip

hozgur commented 1 year ago

Hello this is updated Turkish translation file. tr.json.zip

urish commented 1 year ago

Hello @vetandrKZ and @hozgur, thanks for updating the translations! I've updated the app with the new texts.

Yeah, the component list is not sorted at the moment. We're working on improving it - you are invited to the discord chat, we're discussing how to improve it in the #user-interface channel.

Good point about the search not working in other languages - I've opened a separate issue (#479) for that.

I noticed a typo in the English text: "Projet" instead of "Project". I submitted just now a new Hungarian version, but I do not see here, so I attach it again. (I hope it is not against the rules) wokwi-hu-UJ-2022-12-07.zip

Fixing this post. Removed or relocated old content.

Norwegian translation, some comments and some potentially suggestions. Some parts of this post may be relevant to all that translates or have translated the wokwi-text strings.

Heisann

This is the Norwegian translation available in post #527 A bit freely translated to better reflect the Norwegian language. In Norway nb-NO is used for bokmål norsk and nn-NO for nynorsk norsk The above codes are ISO accepted codes.

Comments Comment on use of ! and . and other "punctuation marks". It is a bit difficult to know when to use different punctuations. Consideration: Is it to be "true" to the US English file or what is natural in own language. Another comment. For better translation a / or () has been used if there is room for other words. I.e LED is used in Norway but so is Lysdiode. Therefore the choice was often LED (Lysdiode) or LED / TFT / Display depending on the component. The idea is to let the filter find all variations to help any user, instead of being strict to the chosen language. And many components fit in several "categories"

Suggestions A suggestion is to add some abbreviation of the category to the elements. Like in misc. (when searching for misc no elements appear, but there are at least two elements in this section (SD-card and LA) (not sure if I should add such info to all elements to let it appear as it uses space and might confuse the users.

Capitalisation Capitalization If I have used two capital letters in words not supposed to have these, please change the second letter if you find any. I have also tried to remove capital letters on several words like US english compared to UK-English. (Not all words "fixed" yet) The Norwegian language very seldom uses capital letters, except for the first words.

Chosen abbreviations or words Often Norwegians uses English words for components and in such cases I used a forward / to show an alternative word. I also used () when adding alternative words. This is to not remove the English words as some users may not find the components, when searching or filtering. The idea is to provide as much and as accurate information as possible.

Relocated and strike through Hmm, not working ~ Here is one example from the json-file: "simulator.tabs.code": "Code", I could write Kode, Koding or Programmering, as all those reflects Coding. I could even chose a few other words, depending on the context.

There may be some added or changed ! . and : somewhere, but again it is a bit challenging to see this until it is presented. I could see from the English file there were not 100% clear where there should be punctuations or sentencese ended. Some placed I think the endings where missing.

I have used the best guess, and tried to look on the simulator, add parts etc. to see where the text would go, and also to see if the words would fit into the space available.

Feel free to comment back on me if you suggest any changes, or simply do them, and I check in on the web-site later to see what has happened. I have proofread my translation several times to rid most of the mistakes, and will try to update any mistakes later.

Summary Anyway, great project you have, and fun to be a little part of it. The translations may be further improved once they are published, as it is a bit hard to see where all sentences, and words are implemented.

And finally. Some sentences may be to long an could be shortened if required. Those sentences may be rewritten File-name is renamed _json.txt to support uploading on this site: nb-NO_json.txt

Dutch language. Dutch.zip

kvapehe commented 1 year ago

Thanks a lot.

I will ask some Norwegian users to try wokwi with the translation to see if any sees strange wordings.

This will be fun. Lowering the level to use the program helps young students / pupils / children

Thanks

Now I have checked the translation to Norwegian. The docs: https://docs.wokwi.com/guides/translating misses reference to the Norwegian and the Dutch translation and possibly others., so maybe update the docs-page also.

Now that the translation is available I noted some capital letters "mistakes" / or inconsistency at least. What do others from other countries think? I know England / UK has lowercase letters for all words except the first, and US has capital letters for all words and German has capital letters for any words which are substantives.

Now when I could see the translation live for Norwegian, it disturbs me a bit not to be consistent. I could also see the undo and redo could be shortened in the menu. No need to add operation in that context, both due to the space available in the menu but also the meaning operation is implied.

Sometimes less is more.

Also worth mentioning.

527 Has more information about Norwegian translation

221 Is this landing page for discussions about translation

221 Is referenced by the docs: https://docs.wokwi.com/guides/translating

478 Discusses a translation service worth considering.

If i want to fix this, do I simply download the nb_NO file again? Does it have to be available first? I think I found the answer to this question and it is mentione in #527

Thanks @kvapehe!

Many more translations are available. For you to find most or all do this: Choose filter then Label Translation, or simply search for the word Translation when clicking on the link https://github.com/wokwi/wokwi-features/issues and using the filter-boxes which appears.

urish commented 1 year ago

Thanks @biancapascal, added the Dutch language: https://wokwi.com/projects/new?lang=nl

Also updated the Translating Guide, as @kvapehe suggested.

Thanks @kvapehe!

The new texts are now online: https://wokwi.com/projects/new?lang=nb-NO Would love to hear your feedback.

There are some issues. The presentation of the language inside the editor. Change the appearance to Norsk bokmål The reason Norsk nynorsk also exists, so if someone translates to this preparing the menu may help.

Other than that, things are looking better for each iteration. I do miss elements available in the menus, and wonder where it is possible to find "missing" elements. Also there are still places that cannot be translated, which I am sure you are fully aware of.

I can see your priority list is full with other issues. Some examples to help you understand my request. This part: json "type":` "wokwi-neopixel-canvas" is missing Some parameters for elements like these I have found by experimenting, and looking on the code in other projects json"attrs": { "rows": "1", "cols": "60", "matrixBrightness": "10", "pixelate": "circle" }, assuming a parameter, that works one place, may be valid another place. I have found a reference to the story book https://elements.wokwi.com/?path=/story/ but I am still sure there has to be another location, not documenting all but referencing all parts that are valid to WokWi. Some are of course not public available, others are beta versions, nevertheless finding these "unsupported" parts is a challenge.

I might add another issue on github just for this purpose, modifying it as I find clues and solutions that work.

Maybe such a page already exists, like discover the "secrets" of WokWi, and what you can do to help out this project. I have some ideas. For the esp the ? is missing, telling the documentation is missing or not fully updated, then for the users to create such pages on github may help you with the workload.

It will not be the same quality as the official documentation, but it is a step in the "right" direction. Now as you can see above I have been experimenting with LED-strips, uno, mega and esp. (Example can be added) When using the uno code for all the esp-boards, the esp, the s2, the s3 and the c3, simply changing the boards and the pins does not make the "code" work as expected. Which has led me to create a few test-projects.

I know there may be issues with the esp and the FastLED-library, but I have something working to a certain extent. Letting other users have less issues with Wokwi, parts and code is something the users like me or others may help out, and then you every now and then may get some ideas and issues you were not familiar with, and magically "fix" or implement the solution in the WokWi editor.

Regards
