In a cells, a few possible options.

[X] Shift+Enter: create a new cell, with the content after cursor in the new cell, focus at beginning (80c8891)
[X] Shift+Delete: delete current cell.
[X] Backspace on top: Merge with previous, 4237147e0a108c2ad49a543067df102f7ce5f233
[X] Delete on last: Merge with next (actually, deletes self), in b5b128721d20b6573303aa4472c0b31f477d931e
