dcp_inspect installation #32

Closed plettplett closed 10 months ago

plettplett commented 6 years ago

Hi Wolfgang,

For the first time, installed dcp_inspect using your install script on Ubuntu for Windows 10. To finish installation, typing in $ exec $SHELL (the prompt returned immediately with a blank command prompt) which I find a little odd...

When running dcp_inspect, I get:

/home/chris/.digital_cinema_tools/.bin/dcp_inspect:2139: warning: Insecure world writable dir /home/chris/.digital_cinema_tools/.lib/.rbenv/versions in PATH, mode 040777 dcp_inspect v1.2018.05.07 (asdcplib 2.7.19, ruby 2.5.1 x86_64-linux): [] No volume or directory given. See dcp_inspect --help

Not sure I get it at all, even after following your instructions. Does the app look for DCPs on the Linux (directory/partion) or the Windows partition, or does one need to add a path to it, such as dcp_inspect /images/dcps/ --na

Thank you Wolfgang, Chris

It seems the very last installation script does not install asdcp tools: Making all in src make[1]: Entering directory '/home/ubuntu/.digital_cinema_tools/.lib/asdcplib/asdcplib-2.7.19/src' make all-am make[2]: Entering directory '/home/ubuntu/.digital_cinema_tools/.lib/asdcplib/asdcplib-2.7.19/src' /bin/bash ../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib\ 2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_fileio.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_fileio.Tpo -c -o KM_fileio.lo KM_fileio.cpp /bin/bash ../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib\ 2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_log.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_log.Tpo -c -o KM_log.lo KM_log.cpp /bin/bash ../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib\ 2.7.19\" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_prng.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_prng.Tpo -c -o KM_prng.lo KM_prng.cpp libtool: compile: g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" "-DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib 2.7.19\"" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_fileio.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_fileio.Tpo -c KM_fileio.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/KM_fileio.o libtool: compile: g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" "-DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib 2.7.19\"" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_prng.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_prng.Tpo -c KM_prng.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/KM_prng.o libtool: compile: g++ -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_TARNAME=\"asdcplib\" -DPACKAGE_VERSION=\"2.7.19\" "-DPACKAGE_STRING=\"asdcplib 2.7.19\"" -DPACKAGE_BUGREPORT=\"asdcplib@cinecert.com\" -DPACKAGE_URL=\"\" -DPACKAGE=\"asdcplib\" -DVERSION=\"2.7.19\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_STAT_H=1 -DHAVE_STDLIB_H=1 -DHAVE_STRING_H=1 -DHAVE_MEMORY_H=1 -DHAVE_STRINGS_H=1 -DHAVE_INTTYPES_H=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DLT_OBJDIR=\".libs/\" -DHAVE_LIBPTHREAD=1 -I. -g -I/usr/include -DHAVE_SSL=1 -I/usr/include -DHAVE_EXPAT=1 -fpermissive -MT KM_log.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/KM_log.Tpo -c KM_log.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/KM_log.o KM_prng.cpp: In function 'void Kumu::Gen_FIPS_186_Value(const byte_t, ui32_t, byte_t, ui32_t)': KM_prng.cpp:219:10: error: aggregate 'BIGNUM c_2powb' has incomplete type and cannot be defined BIGNUM c_2powb, c_2, c_b; I'm on Xubuntu 18.04, just ran an update on digital-cinema-tools and now dcp_inspect hangs on audio analysis, every time. Also, noticed this:

...
There were errors:
Error: openjpeg: Failed to download tarball. Try again later
Error: Failed to extract tarball at /home/ricardo/.digital_cinema_tools/.lib/openjpeg

digital-cinema-tools-setup: Done

How do I downgrade to a version that will work properly again, at least until whatever else is not working catches up? Thanks.

wolfgangw commented 5 years ago

At least the installation issue wrt asdcplib is solved in the latest setup script. Start over with a fresh installation if you can.

Re. the audio analysis hanging, yes, I'm seeing that sometimes on Mac OS and very rarely on a linux box. Didn't find a pattern yet and, tbh, because it mostly works didn't bother all that much.

But something is fishy (is "fishier" a word?) when it hangs all the time, yes.

Re. your initial question: dcp_inspect needs 1 path argument.

Run dcp_inspect --help to see what it needs. dcp_inspect [options] <location> means options are optional (square brackets denote optional things) and one location (path) is required.

hdvprojection commented 5 years ago

I tried the "debug" and "info" switches with -v, but it's giving me no additional details. It simply hangs at audio analysis. And yes, every time. Very weird.

I'm unable to install dcp_inspect on my system, which has never happened before. I was having an issue installing ruby, and found some advice recommending uninstalling my current ruby version. I think maybe that worked, but now I get the error:

fatal: unable to connect to github.com:
github.com[0: 192.30.255.113]: errno=Connection timed out

rbenv: Failed to clone repository. Try again later

Also, "rbenv not found".

I found another thread suggesting changing the "http" in your setup script to "https", but no luck there either. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Just do as following, it worked for me with Ubuntu 22.04:

wget http://git.io/digital-cinema-tools-setup

open digital-cinema-tools-setup script in a text editor and replace "git://" by "https://"

bash digital-cinema-tools-setup

Hope it will work for you too!

@hdvprojection @liloneum @plettplett short heads-up: the latest Setup should fix the above issues. The hang with audio analysis should be fixed, too.

If you can please try again and come back with how it went. tia.

If possible do a clean run with

rm -rf ~/.digital_cinema_tools # will remove your existing tools installation
wget -p https://git.io/digital-cinema-tools-setup && bash digital-cinema-tools-setup # on Debian/Ubuntu
# or
curl -sLO https://git.io/digital-cinema-tools-setup && bash digital-cinema-tools-setup # on macOS

I just uninstalled and installed new via your instructions, and it appears to be broken now, evidently having a rough time finding the Assetmaps. I ran inspections on a few DCPs that I made, and one that I have that was built using Clipster, all of which had passed inspections previously. I'm getting some version of this with every inspection:

@hdvprojection thanks for checking.

Fixed with latest (88bcb69df9a1013a7e3d972fd6c5eac06d0109c9). Please run digital-cinema-tools-setup to confirm.

Glad to hear that the initial issue (installation) is indeed fixed for you. Thanks for the feedback.

hdvprojection commented 10 months ago

That seems to have done the trick. It is finding assets and checking them. Thank you!

Hi Wolfgang, unfortunately I am having the same problem as @hdvprojection - it works fine on one machine on Mint 21 (~ Ubuntu 22.04), but is unable to locate ASSETMAPs on another with Ubuntu Server 18.04 - I am aware we should update, but in the meantime it would be great to make it work ;-)

@ddmar can you please run

fdfind -t f -H -I --base-directory '/data/elektronik/' '^ASSETMAP$|^ASSETMAP.xml$'

and post whatever that gives you?

ddmar commented 8 months ago

It works fine on 22.04, but on 18.04:

 fdfind -t f -H -I --base-directory '/data/elektronik/' '^ASSETMAP$|^ASSETMAP.xml$'
error: Found argument '--base-directory' which wasn't expected, or isn't valid in this context

USAGE:
    fd [FLAGS/OPTIONS] [<pattern>] [<path>...]

For more information try --help

I guess it's time to update the OS ;-)

wolfgangw commented 8 months ago

Ah, ok. So a fdfind --version would return something pre-7.5, I reckon?

Two options: manually install a contemporary fdfind. Or, yes, upgrade the OS -_- https://github.com/wolfgangw/backports/issues/110

Exactly - it was 7.4.0. There were some depencenies issues while I tried to update fd-find only, so I ended up with upgrading the OS to 22.04 - dcp_inspect now works perfectly fine. Thank you for your help with troubleshooting!
