Cinemaslides on Ubuntu (19.10) #33

Hello, I had to reinstall my linux computer with Ubuntu 19.10 and since then, I can't use Cinemaslides anymore. First, it didn't install when running the digital-cinema-tool-setup, and even when I get it separately from here, it's not working. I got a lot of warning: constant ::TRUE is deprecated (or FALSE), and the biggest issue seems to be:

Traceback (most recent call last):
        1: from /usr/local/bin/cinemaslides:2807:in `<main>'
/usr/local/bin/cinemaslides:647:in `width_x_height': undefined method `split' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError)

Except that, only issue with the digital-cinema-tool-setup seems to be with the git-core even if it's installed on the system. digital-cinema-tools-setup: 1 packages missing digital-cinema-tools-setup: git-core ... cinemaslides: Required gem highline OK

Is it planned to be fixed ? Cinemaslides is a very usefull tool here for creating ads. Thanks a lot, Best regards, Olivier

@Olivier-Scala hi and sorry for ignoring this, hadn't noticed the ticket at the time.

Yes, at some point I had dropped cinemaslides from the tools distribution, didn't have the time to maintain it - it's really old. It was fun to make but its time had run out, I figured.

I hope that in the meantime you did find another tool to make your slideshows? I'd suggest Blackmagic's Resolve to do this and so much more - free version availabe and way sufficient.

Love to hear, though, that you actually used cinemaslides in production, that is awesome, haha.
