Actually, I believe this might be a gtk issue, that is similar to using the
Dvorak keyboard.

The keycode for the accelerator is never getting to the gnome-mplayer
application. I have been able to duplicate your issue, and I have asked for
assistance on the gtk-app-devel mailing list.

"ctrl+f" full screen -> again "ctrl+f" nothing happens (with "f"->"f" works).
No return to the simple mode.

Interesting that this is fixed as I don't recall making any change to fix this.
I never got an answer from the GTK mailing list on this.
And CTRL-F in to fullscreen mode, but not out is correct as the CTRL-F
accelerator deactivates on fullscreen mode, f or ESC will return you to
non-fullscreen.

en keyboard layout -> "CTRL-F" and "P" works both ways, it is logical if you
will work with Cyrillic.
Maverick (10.10) dist-upgrade to alpha Natty (~11.04) and keyboard shortcuts
earned. Thought it was fixed with the update you build the player.
let's see what happens next and that the response gtk-app-devel mailing list :)

Can you test the SVN code of gmtk and gnome-mplayer. That code allows
customizing of some keyboard shortcuts. If the customizing works for you I will
add more keys to the list of custom ones.
