this patch set showing subtitle is set always on (in fullscreen mode too)

Patch is completely wrong, and just masks any issues. If any patching needs to
be done, it is probably needs to be in gmtk in gmtk_media_player.c. That code
may not be detecting subtitles properly. But there may be a side effect of the
fullscreen mode I will look into it as you can't update GTK menu items when
they are hidden.

Ok, try gnome-mplayer SVN r2248 and gmtk SVN r112 and that should solve it.

I just did a test here with 6 mkv files loaded on a playlist all with
subtitles. I was able to switch between files in fullscreen and in windowed
mode and never lost the subtitles. Can you send me a gnome-mplayer -v log of
the test so that I can see what options are enabled and if there are any
messages that come out?
Also, what version of GTK are you compiled against?

Are the subtitles in the files or are they external subtitles?

Ok, I think I see the problem. You audio language and subtitle languages are
set to Zuni and so the Russian subtitles are not properly picked. Try resetting
those and see if it helps. The other thing you might try is trying with mplayer
instead of mplayer2. Let me know if that makes any difference.
