crunchy dir_help broken under 3.0 #80

I had disabled it as it gave rise to javascript alerts.  This will need to
be fixed prior to 1.0 release.

Fixed (at least for Python 3.0a1) in revision 537.   Using Python3.0a2, the
interpreter is broken (unrelated to any pre-existing issue).
