Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Under "Common Shapes", choose "Plain Text" (or Rich Text); drag to page area
2a. Hitting "Enter" completes text, does not break to new line (see
expected behavior)
2b. Pasting block of text into textbox does not creat multi-line text either
2c. Dragging lower center handle does not expand text box

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
2a. Type text, hit enter to force new line
2b. Paste block of text should automatically increast size of text box to
accomodate block of text
2c. Dragging lower handle should expand text box size vertically

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.3 Pencil
Windows XP Professional
Firefox 3.0.1

After reading more documentation, I found the "Rich Text" control to work as
expected..just not as I expected :-) I think this issue can be deleted.

I have the same issue - unable to make line breaks but I can't do this using
the rich text shape either, if I hit enter it completes the text. Extremely
frustrating, I cannot communicate all ideas in one line and adding multiple
separate lines of text to try and make up a paragraph is driving me crazy.

Workaround:

If you are still having trouble with Multiline text try holding the shift key
while pressing Enter this will give you a new line at current cursor point.

I also have this issue even after trying the "shift-Enter" solution. If I copy
a block of text into the Rich Text block, it appears nicely until I hit enter.
Then the line breaks are there but it creates a thin column of text instead of
maintaining the specified shape.

I have the same issue. To solve this problem I use rectangle. Then I set the
fill color opacity and stroke color opacity to zero. It works for me! :)

this is the screenshot!
