I tried to create a new storyboard with an .fdx file script, but it just repeatedly said "Missing .storyboarder file for scene 0."

setpixel commented 6 years ago

Can you send me your .fdx file: charles@wonderunit.com

ghost commented 6 years ago

Of course

gympoole commented 5 years ago

I am having the exact same thing happen. How was this resolved?

I am having the exact same thing happen. How was this resolved?

It took a bit of work but I had to go in and directly edit every line to be compliant with script format (you can find what those are with a quick search).

gympoole commented 5 years ago

I do appreciate any response - however, I've uploaded .fdx files before without any issue. If you can point out an example in my attached of where the format is off, I'd appreciate it. I've googled "import script format for wonder unit storyboarder" and it just sends me to the FAQ on Storyboader. I've followed the guides on https://fountain.io/ Sorry if I'm the most dense person you've communicated with this season, but I cannot figure it.

thanks, Jim

The Angel Feliciano Story An Unshackled Production Script by Timothy Gregory

1. FADE IN: EXT. - PARKING GARAGE OR LOT OR OPEN FIELD An out of focus close up, slowly focusing to reveal that we are looking down a barrel of a gun.

MAN WITH GUN Maybe I should just shoot you...

ANGEL Go ahead. Shoot me. I’d probably be better off. Please...please! Shoot me!

MAN WITH GUN Naw, man you’re crazy. You’re not worth the bullet.

The Man walks away leaving Angel alone in the empty field. B-roll begins of Angel walking back to his van with the following V/O underneath.

ANGEL VOICEOVER To this day, I don’t know what stopped him from shooting me. And in my eyes, at the time, he was right— I wasn’t worth the bullet. I used to think a drug addict was somebody who lived on the edges of society— wild- eyed, filthy and homeless. That was until I became one. Except for my van, I had lost everything. But there was a time when I thought I had everything.

2. DISSOLVE TO: Ext. Home Daytime B-ROLL: It is a beautiful, sunny day and we see Angel sitting on his back patio grilling out. His girlfriend is close by and they are both laughing and enjoying watching his daughter running thru the sprinkler in the yard.

ANGEL VOICEOVER I was 32 and owned my own house. I had a loving girlfriend, a beautiful daughter and a new truck. Life was good. I felt like... (b-roll picks up Angel mouthing the words, "I made it.") I felt proud about what I had done. Then, everything started to fall apart.

DISSOLVE TO: 3. Ext. Parking lot or garage - Day. B-ROLL: Angel is outside his van with a guy. He opens the doors and pulls out some tools handing them over to the guy to check out, while also looking around paranoid.

ANGEL VOICEOVER My hopes and dreams began to fail. Money problems, lost jobs, broken relationships... then came the drugs— doing and dealing. If pride goes before a fall... then my shame kept me from getting up once I was down. And once you’re down you’ll do things you never thought you’d do.

BUYER Where did you get this stuff?

ANGEL Hey, man, don’t worry about it. I give it all to you for $200.

BUYER Is it stolen?

ANGEL Okay, a hundred bucks. I’ll even throw in these—

BUYER Nah, man. I’m not buying anything from you.

ANGEL Come on, man! (Gently grabbing his shirt) Nobody's gonna know -

BUYER Get away from me or I'm calling the cops.

Dissolve to: 4. Ext. Parking Lot Garage Daytime B-ROLL: We pick up Angel getting in his van, and prepping a crack pipe. The close-up shot is from the passenger side of the van toward Angel in the driver seat as he brings it to his lips to smoke. Suddenly bursting into frame and from the outside of the driver side window is a fellow addict. Angel is startled and drops his pipe.

ANGEL VOICEOVER Drugs take you to hell disguised as Heaven. Which is really what I was looking for all along ...I just didn’t

USER Angel! What's up man!

ANGEL Dude, what’s wrong with you?? You just made me drop my— you idiot!

USER What’s wrong with you, man??

ANGEL You don’t walk up on people like that! Are you crazy??

USER I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs! And I’m bored— you got some rock we can tap??

ANGEL Not anymore! And I wouldn’t give it to you if I had it.

USER Fine! You old grumpy crack-head! I’mo go ask Leon. Well, you know where to find me if you if you score some Devilsmoke! And remember, Angel, “just say no”! (Exit laughing)

5. Dissolve to: Ext. Parking Lot Garage - Daytime B-ROLL: Close up of Angel sitting in his van staring into the distance.

ANGEL VOICEOVER Drugs take you to hell disguised as Heaven. Which is really what I was looking for all along ...I just didn’t know it. All I knew was I was lost. (He turns on the radio and flips thru a few stations, finally landing on Unshackled. We hear the Announcer saying... )

ANNOUNCER VO. Listening Friend, if you’re unable to break free of some habit or hopelessness that keeps you in darkness, we want you to know that there is no such thing as “beyond repair” in God’s eyes. If you you’d like to learn more about the crucial decision to know God personally, get in touch with us here at Pacific Garden Mission... (Fade out.)

6. Ext. Angel Driving Van B-ROLL: Angel driving in his van looking a little more hopeful... listening to the radio

ANGEL VOICEOVER I began to listen to the show Unshackled every week, and I finally took them up on their offer to learn more about a relationship with God by driving across the midwest to Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago with the last 10 dollars I had left for gas.

7. Ext. Angel at PGM B-roll: Angel walking into the front doors of mission. Angel in class. Angel in church. Angel carrying out duties as Program participant. Angel Teaching in the Chapel.

ANGEL VOICEOVER Once at the mission, I entered the Men’s Bible Program where I learned what a real relationship with Jesus Christ was about. I would also learn that the best things in life aren’t things. They’re the family and friends and relationships you have around you. God continues to grow me and use me as I now serve as Manager of the Men’s New Life Program. I am now married to a patient and godly woman. We don’t have a house, and we don’t have all the material things I used to have, but we have God’s Grace, and there’s nothing – nothing that I can do that can take that away from me. And now that I have Jesus... I really have “made it.”

8. Ext. REAL ANGEL FELICIANO at PGM Angel sitting at a table with a group of men on the 2nd or 3rd floor balcony. The drone picks him up as he turns to the camera.

REAL ANGEL FELICIANO I’m Angel Feliciano, and that’s my story. If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

The drone camera pulls up and away as Angel engages the group of men again. END

WELL, FINALLY , I got it to load thru trial and error is seems like the only difference I could find is a line space is needed after the Scene setting (Ext.)

That one little thing lost me a full afternoon. Sheesh.

thanks for your help.
