add does not support Chinese characters in name

I am unable to add a person with name in another language (e.g. "小明" in Chinese characters), as only alphanumeric / special characters are allowed.

This might hinder users who want to save patient names in another language

We agree with you, we should indeed make the name field less restrictive to be more inclusive. Hence, we have written it in our planned enhancements so that we can implement it in future. We hope that you can understand, given the limited time frame for this project.
