Synthetic Student Generation
The heavy focus on machine learning and AI are the main reasons why this is my first choice. I’m really interested in AI and I want to learn more about it. I’ve taken CS 1675 and I’m currently in CS 1571. This project will give me a chance to experience the real-world applications of what I’ve learned in my classes, and I find that exciting.
Acoustic Monitoring of Frog Populations
This one only has basic level machine learning analysis, but I still think I can learn a lot from. It would be a great experience and a lot of fun.
Data Mining for Helping Students in Scheduling
This is my number 3 choice because even though it would involve machine learning I feel like I would learn more from Synthetic Student Generation project, and I would enjoy the Acoustic Monitoring of Frog Populations more.
Augmented Reality in Clinical Training
This one doesn’t have a machine learning or AI focus, but it does combine two my other interests, medicine and game design. I was pre-med before becoming a computer science major, but I’m still interested in the applications of technology with medicine. This project is also very similar to game design which I took a class on here in at Pitt, and really enjoyed. I had already planned to learn Unity, and this would just motivate me more to do so.
