  1. Acoustic Monitoring of Frog Populations I am a bioinformatics major and have 2 years of experience doing research in a computational biology lab. I am especially interested in ecological diversity and how evolution has produced so many diverse species. Monitoring and measuring biodiversity is a really important part of understanding that. I have extensive experience using bioinformatics software and programming languages that are commonly used to analyze biological data (ex. R, python, and Julia). I also have experience developing and bench-marking algorithms.
  2. Automated data extraction from mammalian cells I spent a semester working in a cancer/immunology lab and understand some of the reasons for variation between different types of mammalian cells. I spent quite a bit of time manually classifying cells, and I appreciate the need for an automated classification process. I have a little bit of experience with machine learning algorithms, but would be interested in learning about them in an applied setting.
  3. Match Making Website for Capstones I really appreciate the goal of this project and am good at creating appealing and effective interfaces. I have experience developing algorithms and have some ideas about how to maximize the matching process.
