Takis Benos group Project 1 -- Creating predictive algorithms to improve clinical outcomes is very interesting to me, as someone looking to go into the medical field. This project resembles one that I did with the University of Michigan last summer. My group was challenged to develop a predictive algorithm that could determine the chances of survival for critical care patients. We used a Hidden Markov Model and SVM to create an algorithm that had over 80% accuracy. I hope to apply the skills that I learned to this project as well to better understand ML algorithms.
The skills of college education and successful careers -- Although I have not yet had the opportunity to work in Javascript, I look forward to developing these important skills through this project. Understanding labor trends in the workforce can allow Universities to adapt to the changing needs in the labor market.
