laravel docs on google are the latest laravel, so a lot of them don't apply to us, since our version is the old one - we might want to update our build of laravel, though there is a substantial amount of modifications that we must make to make the change

Cool, lemme know when you plan to make the changes. I will work on finishing the sql in the meantime and I will reorganize the files when the laravel update can be completed.
honestly, I haven't read the new docs that thoroughly, so technically both of us have the same experience with laravel 4; I think you can read the docs to understand how the framework works, then migrate the existing system to laravel 4.
