You guys need to use SmoothVideo Project (SVP) with SVPLight plugin. It will solve all those problems with video playback and also add a frame interpolation function! I will not put the link cause i don`t know is it acceptable by the rules so just google it.
Thanks, SVP + SVPLIGHT are good and they do solve the tearing, but the lights aren't good and accurate as Prismatik, also, they do not work with the latest XBMC...
I think Lightpack fellas should solve the issue once and for all, For now I paid 200$ for semi-working product, Woodenshark should at least mention in their website that this is work-in-progress product and not final, because it's not possible to watch a movie with such tearing.
SVP works with any player able to work with FFdshow, just set up XBMC (32bit version, not 64) to use FFdshow and it'll work with SVP, there are some guides on the svp site. Also, there is some options in SVPlight, which will help you to make all your build work precisely. The problem with tearing is within the capture method, implemented in Prismatik. It makes like many screenshots every X milliseconds (you can choose it in settings, my choise is 1000/60=16ms), but there's some problem in capturing 60 fps with Aero on. If you switch aero off - it will capture all 60 fps, but video player looses Vsync optyon (at least mpc-hc, which i using), so there will be another source of tearing. It`s all from my experience and some tests. So the only reason you can use this kind of mod with video playing is letting video decoder drive the lightpack itself, without any screen capturing at all. The bigger problem with tearing - is there is no native lightpack/prismatik support in games, so we can only count on damn screen capturing which eats large amounts of resources and even if you have powerful GPU and CPU - you will not get 60 fps. Tested by myself in Saints Row IV, for example. P.S. Sorry for my English.
I am experiencing this problem as well - came here for a solution for use with Kodi
Hi
I have 2 sets of Lightpack on my Pioneer 5090 TV, The response and the effect of the Lightpack is amazing, but it has a serious artifact- Horizontal Tearing; The screen just 'tears' when playing any kind of video (540p,720p,1080p) with any software (from WMP to Media Player Classic, XBMC). It's unbearable its impossible to watch a movie like that. I tried to change parameters @ Prismatik (Smoothness, Grab delay) - nothing works. I even try to force V.Sync in the ATI Control Panel - not helping as well.
The second that I turn off the lights from the start menu - the tearing disappears.
My PC: Win7 32bit, E7400 + 4GB DDR2 + ATI 5450. Last version of Prismatik (5.11.1).
Please, do something with this - it makes the 200$ that I spent on 2 sets - unworthy
\ Fast Google search will discover that I'm not the only one who suffer from the same problem
Thanks.
