You might want to start working in a fork to continue this project. I'm pretty sure I'll never work on this again in my life. If anything, I'll try making an open-source HL engine and then make a sven mod for that.
Solokiller has a project that adds improvements like what you're doing, and I think has all the opposing force and blue shift entities implemented. It might save to time to fork that and add sven code to it.
No worries, @wootguy – my approach with this is similar to yours, to (re)familiarize myself with the Half-Life SDK. Maybe I'll eventually revive my old mod, but not sure. Your project has already helped me and thank you! I think it would be fun to get Seven Kewp to a point where earlier Sven maps could be played with it; but if you don't welcome my pull requests, I'll probably find something else to do, or really go forward in a fork. Good luck on the HL engine clone – that would be an enormous challenge!
I'll add you as a contributor so you can push directly. I'm just blindly accepting everything anyway.
Edit:
I'm pretty sure I'll never work on this again in my life.
Prediction fail. The mod is compatible with at least 200 maps from scmapdb now. The 25th anniversary update for HL was too much fun to not try starting a server with this mod. However player counts have dropped to near 0 since the update so motivation is dwindling again.
Honor the "classify" and "is_player_ally" keyvalues. In single player mode (which is not removed yet and might be good for testing), these values get saved. As for Classify, I actually implemented most of this for my own mod in the 2000s (mine was slightly different that Sven Co-op's approach).
