What's the problem?

There are many cases where it would be nice to generate content that follows a path rather than a fixed layout, to create more organic designs. We have a partially implemented painting feature currently which generates a group of Phrases with particular text, but it's not particularly polished. I've disabled the ProjectView's <Paint> button for now, until we can finish this more completed version.

What's the idea?

Here's the polished vision:

Allow the phrase being painted with to be edited
Smoothly connect gaps between points on lag during dragging
Construct paths phrase by phrase rather than by dragging
Allow configuration of different brushes that vary color, rotation, size of phrases
Generate a single phrase like a stamping feature

Who benefits?

Anyone who wants to create more organic groups.

I'm so glad you grabbed this @DIANAYT! Do you have a designer working with you on this, or are you acting as designer as well? (It still has a design tag, but I noticed its in the dev project).

@amyjko I am acting as both dev and designer, I just removed the needs design tag to avoid confusion!

Okay, thanks Diana! I'm happy to provide any guidance on this one, since I (half) implemented it, then disabled it, since it wasn't polished enough. There are a lot of fun possibilities here! I think performance is going to be a key challenge to think through.

It's the end of the quarter, so please post an update on this issue. Things to consider:

Should you still be the assignee? (If you're planning on working on it, yes! Submit a comment explaining your plans. If not, then unassign yourself, so others are eligible to grab it).
Do you have any work products that are hosted outside of GitHub? Embed them in this issue, so others can build off of them.
Are there any branches associated with this issue? Please link to them in the issue.

No reply, unassigning everyone to free up the issue for others to work on. Reassign yourself if you're still working on it.
