Investigating the issue the translations are returned from the API and this seem to work as expected in other languages. The web interface and iOS also look better though missing some translation. The issue looks similar with https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-Android/issues/16423#issuecomment-1112202726

Noting a couple specifics from the initial user report in 8023631-zd-a8c:

• This user has their interface language set to Chinese (Taiwan) and noticed that the Activity Log filters are in English and the heading on the filters screen is in Simplified Chinese (i.e. Chinese (China)).
• In Chinese (China), the exact same is true: filters (and activity log event descriptions) are in English, filter heading is in Simplified Chinese (which is expected for that interface language selection).
• Activity Log screen heading is untranslated in all languages that I checked. Unsure if that's expected.

Interface language: Chinese (Taiwan). Heading is Simplified Chinese instead of Traditional Chinese; filters are English:
