This is where pairs or trios of players could pool their scores to win.

The AIs would have to be updated to handle playing "together"
This would be only be relevant for games with 4+
Most common examples from IRL: 2v2 or 3v3v3

The main rule for teams is that the combined score of the members of the team is what is used to determine the winners of the game. Beyond that, the winners of each round determine who plays next, as in normal games.
