As a student who doesn't have any idea what they want to do, I want to be able to use my interests to get an idea for what careers are actually out there.
I think this is similar to a use case we decided on in those initial discussions, I can't quite remember it exactly though.
What we've got now fulfills this use case to some degree but I think it's a somewhat complicated thing to do so starting some more discussion and getting and trying out ideas would be really good!
Some points I've got to start us off:
I think we shouldn't use NCEA subjects as interests - they're a good starting point but they don't really cover everything and they feel somewhat like qualifications instead of interests. i.e "You have to take this subject to get this job".
It limits you to one interest and the careers that we think go with that interest. For example you couldn't compare a librarian against a school teacher as they're not under the same interest.
There's always going to be careers that don't exist in the future. What could we do to help with this? Do we need to do anything?
There's also a few usability/user experience issues with what's there currently - but since it's a solution to the use case I think we can wait a bit or address it in another issue!
