For Haiti 2010 EQ, DG open data program has post- imagery (license appears not to be an issue) https://www.digitalglobe.com/opendata/haiti/post-event
For Pakistan 2010 Flood, I think the comparison is fine but it's more discerning if we zoom in closer
Better quality of imagery here: https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=44991
@olafveerman Sources to look into for Chile 2010 EQ https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=42827
Licensing seems fine as long as we credit βNASA/GSFC, Rapid Response.β https://earthdata.nasa.gov/faq#ed-rapid-response-faq and Mozambique flood https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=85145
This feature is temporarily disabled until better imagery is found. Not addressing at this stage.
Closed too soon, we'll look into adding the imagery @xijielu
From: https://github.com/worldbank-cdrp/historic-risk-explorer/issues/60 and https://github.com/worldbank-cdrp/historic-risk-explorer/pull/93
The current site contains a feature that shows satellite imagery before and after disasters to provide a richer context to the user. The imagery that we were able to find process doesn't do a very good job at showing change over time, and provides little additional context.
We should do a final push to see if we can find better imagery for the three disasters, or if there's imagery for any of the other ones.
Pakistan floods- 2010 ,
The landsat 5 images were found and processed ok: results π https://bl.ocks.org/Rub21/raw/7864d1abb1c2bea768af003cd84f99aa/index3.html
Mozambique flooding- 2015
The landsat 8 images were found and processed ok: results π https://bl.ocks.org/Rub21/raw/7864d1abb1c2bea768af003cd84f99aa/index2.html
Haiti earthquake - 2010
There is not Landsat or sentinel images for it, we found previous disaster images, but there is not post images. https://bl.ocks.org/Rub21/raw/7864d1abb1c2bea768af003cd84f99aa/,
There are still other disasters which donβt have the pre and post disasters images, according to the list
we may not be find the images for old disasters, but for the recently disasters we have more possibilities to find, so I will try to find the missing sat images using sat-search and the process those images.
