@bbdaniels , I think we all agree on this. But I meant for you to merge this if you are happy with how this sits in the copyright page that you sat up.

I have added code that create a link to the commit on GitHub that was the most recent commit on the branch checked out at the time of compiling the book. It is fully automatic (and clickable in the pdf).

The problem is if you compile with un-committed edits. There is obviously no way to deal with that. If you have committed edits but not yet pushed it it is stilled included. It gets the info from your clone. Not from GitHub.com. So what you have committed to the clone is what matters.
