Investigate and compare which is better for our needs:

What is the possibility of having the CMS as part of company's corporate social responsibility?

What is the maximum discount we can have?

Compare against our requirements and budget

lauggh commented 3 years ago

@souvikdg We are preparing a project document that you can use to investigate and compare CMS features for WIAD needs.

How much the license cost?

souvikdg commented 3 years ago

@GhadaKandil For Craft details are here: https://craftcms.com/pricing. (Please see non-profit discount at the bottom)

In addition to the CMS license, WIAD may need some plugins which may add up to a few hundred dollars.

Craft CMS License $299/project - 15% nonprofit discount Commerce Pricing $199 for donations, subscriptions $59/year CMS updates $39/year Commerce updates

Possible plugins for: videos maps forms analytics Social login? Stripe (free) tags? Field and Tab Permissions at $19/year + $9/yearly updates

Does this look right to you?

Commerce Pricing $199 for donations, subscriptions $39/year Commerce updates

I am not sure if you need to route donations/subscriptions using Craft Commerce. We should have a more detailed conversation on what are the requirements for WIAD before I can confirm that we need this.

In any case, there would be more costs involved beyond the license e.g. Payment Gateway (Stripe or others).

A little too early to confirm this. We may not need all the plugins listed above and we may need different ones. We should come to this stage after we have documented/finalised the website requirements in greater detail #3.

I was looking for headless alternatives and Contentful could work for us. The most important piece is the total cost ownership, which is pretty competitive. https://www.contentful.com/pricing/

A setup with an ecosystem of plugins is also possible, but it's the only thing we should look in detail, because costs can skyrocket on this one.

For e-commerce we could use a Contentful plugin called commercelayer.io ($0.90 per order) or Shopify nonprofit (Shopify offers no cost plans for charity and nonprofit orgs).

Are those options to explore or should we stick with the previous ones?

lauggh commented 3 years ago

I think think these are possible options to explore. Do you have a vendor or agency in mind to pull together a proposal on how this might look? We’ll be looking for partners as sponsors to carry out the work. On Jun 22, 2021, 6:11 PM -0700, Alysson Franklin @.***>, wrote:
