At the beginning of an observing session, run say sbig-gps to get latitude, longitude, elevation values from GPS instead of hardwiring in the config file. Maybe write this to another config file like $HOME/.sbig/gpsfix that is invalid after its modification time is more than a day old?
Also provide an option for stepping the system time as root to match GPS time (requires root).
It would likely be unstable to depend on there being a live GPS fix during imaging to get accurate times for example, but for systems that have poor hwclocks (or non-existent in the case of raspberry pi or beagle bone) and maybe no internet access for NTP, it would be useful to at least set the system time when getting ready to image.
