[QA] Transaction complete step did not load, funds were deducted, but not received

It seems that something might be up with Goerli testnet network, because the transaction to the Goerli network showed as success, but not all the funds showed as received. Also in these cases step 3 in transactions screen were not loading.

Preconditions: Wallet is connected

Environment: MacBook Pro, macOS Ventura 13.0.1, Firefox version 109.0.1 (64-bit)

Steps:

1. Prepare to send 0.59953 GLMR from Moonbase to Goerli
2. Choose pay with one transaction
3. Click Approve and proceed with transaction
4. Observe the transactions screen

Actual result: On transaction screen the "Transaction complete" step did not load. Funds were deducted from Moonbase Network wallet, but they were not received in Goerli wallet.

Expected result: Funds are successfully sent and received, all three steps are loaded in transaction screen.

Issue also can be reproduced when:

• User sends MATIC from Mumbai to Goerli and Gas is paid with 1 transaction
• User sends FTM from Fantom to Goerli and Gas is paid with 1 transaction
• User sends AVAX from Fuji to Goerli and Gas is paid with 1 transaction
• User sends CELO from Alfajores to Goerli and Gas is paid with 1 transaction

Issue is not reproducible when:

• User sends FTM from Fantom to Goerli and Gas is paid with 2 transactions
• User sends CELO from Alfajores to Goerli and Gas is paid with 2 transactions
• User sends SOL from Solana to Goerli and Gas is paid with 2 transactions

Since it's not reproducible with manual redeeming, I'd hazard the root cause is the relayer. I'll have to look and ask the team what it could be.

So, I digged into it a bit. A few points:

• You have to take into account that the ETH settlement times for Wormhole are quite long compared to the rest (around 20 minutes if I'm correct). I checked, and the BSC -> ETH shows as settled. These are the TXs/VAAs involved in the operation if I'm not mistaken:

• BSC: tx vaa

• ETH: tx. The second log points out the completed transfer.

• Regarding the Moonbeam transaction. I checked some of the relayer logs and noticed the following error: Message is not from the relayer contract for chainId: 16. Sender address: 0xa098368AaaDc0FdF3e309cda710D7A5f8BDEeCD9. Relayer address for 16: 0x5c9da01cbf5088ee660b9701dc526c6e5df1c239. Skipping.. I tracked it down to a config error on the relayer, which was using the wrong relayer contract address. The fix was made the day after this issue was reported, so I bet this wrong config was the root cause. Moreover, I tried a new transfer from Moonbeam to Eth and it was succesful (moonbeam tx, eth redeem tx):

I'll be closing this since it seems the issue is not specific to WH connect and it's already fixed in the relayer.

Tested OK. Scenario: Verify that transaction steps load and funds are received. Environment: MacBook Pro, macOS Ventura 13.0.1, Chrome Version 108.0.5359.98
