Instanced M2s currently share materials to help minimize resource consumption.
Because texture animations can be shared across multiple materials, the plan for texture animations is to animate properties set directly on the M2, and set up subscriptions to these animated properties on each M2Material that references the given texture animation.
This plan necessitates that, for instanced M2s, the animations occur on the original (ie blueprint) M2, such that shared materials can all subscribe to the same exact property.
