I was thinking something possibly closer to a basic stream list of events by date using a minimal Jekyll theme like https://jekyllthemes.io/theme/balzac-for-jekyll so we can have a guide to create new events as jekyll posts; static HTML would work OK too, and enable a more comprehensive calendar view, but might be overcomplex

I think a simpler view makes alot more sense, just for getting everything up and running.
