Everything worked flawlessly except for the actual images showing up on my local development. The correct number is displayed, along with date author etc. however, the actual image is not displayed.

are the image files in wp-content/uploads?

notslang commented 10 years ago

also, are you sure that wp-migrate-db-media-files is installed, activated, and the media files option is checked in the transfer options?

ccsouthard commented 10 years ago

Nope. they are under media in the root. That makes sense why they are not displaying. Is there a simple solution/setting to change directories for the media dir?

Yes. also i have a broken theme- Although, I think this has more to do with the way the theme is structured versus your plug-in. If everything was default I think it would be seamless.

quick hack was ftp, but if there is a feature to alter the directories of where the media/themes resides that would be great.

I'm actually having trouble reproducing this. We just use wp_upload_dir() to find the uploads directory - it's a value supplied by WordPress.

notslang commented 10 years ago

If you want, I can take a look at your server and see what's up.

ccsouthard commented 10 years ago

Sure. everything works almost perfect except for zipping the theme and the upload folder. I think I just need to change the directory the upload folder points.

you are referring to the remote server?

This plugin doesn't zip the theme or upload folder... It is made for transferring them directly between servers.

And I can look at the remote server or any other server... whichever you're having problems with.

ccsouthard commented 10 years ago

My bad. I wasn't clear. In order for me to get it to work on my hand, I had to sit the scene and transfer that way and also remove the media files. Which I guess is the whole purpose of the add-on to the migration software.

The only glitch is that I think I need to have files in the traditional word press upload directory versus the media directory that's not located in the WP – content. That's probably a bad practice on my part. Regarding the theme, not sure why didn't translate. When i get back to my desktop, what is the easiest way for you to access the local development server – I'm using the software mamp? Sent from my wireless device (please forgive grammatical errors).

Not really sure what you're saying

Please excuse prior message. Voice dictation software went haywire when I was away from the computer and sent messages. Will be in touch in a few days. My apologies for the confusion.
