Text depth inconsistent with cwapp

In cwapp, it appears that text with depth extends only backward from the text face. Scaling of depth is also off.

Somewhat related to #54, although caused by a different scaling factor.

Addressed by 46602b1011e415. Please reopen if this is not sufficiently precise for legacy projects.
