s2member Version 170524 not working,will not activate (Fresh Install WP) #1106

EXPLANATION OF THE ISSUE

fresh install wordpress-4.7.5 with s2member Version 170524 not working,will not activate. Shows error in admin area.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE ISUE

try to activate s2member plugin

BEHAVIOR THAT I EXPECTED

activated plugin.

BEHAVIOR THAT I OBSERVED

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Warning: require_once(DIR/composer/autoload_real.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/stuartvi/public_html/member/wp-content/plugins/s2member/src/vendor/autoload.php on line 5

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'DIR/composer/autoload_real.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/share/pear') in /home2/stuartvi/public_html/member/wp-content/plugins/s2member/src/vendor/autoload.php on line 5

@stuartvideo Please see Testing in a Clean WordPress Installation. We have 7,000+ people running v170524 and there haven't been any issues with activation.

If you're still experiencing an issue after testing in a clean install, you might downloading a fresh copy of the plugin—it could be that your download was corrupted. Also, if your site is running PHP OPCache, please ensure that the OPCache has been cleared (if you're not sure what that means, I recommend contacting your web host).

s2Member v170524 has been activated. Nice work! what was the problem? if i install on my main web site will it work also ? what was the problem? • S I have set PHP version to 5.6 which fixed the issue.

@stuartvideo I'm glad to hear it's working now. So it was the PHP version that was causing the problem. Do you know what version of PHP you were running before?

No sorry i don't know what version of PHP. A Bluehost shared server . ᐧ
