I am receiving the same error after transferring the site to WP Engine.
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /nas/content/live/landscapetoday/wp-content/plugins/genesis-featured-content-widget/gs-featured-content-widget.php on line 86
I'm not certain if the issue also existed in the old location (I just recently took over management of the site), but I do see that the genesis-sandbox-featured-content-widget is not tested with the latest version of WP, and the site has the latest version of WP.
Version 1.1.8 of the plugin is being used.
The error occurs when attempting to activate the plugin, and it results in the site going down. The plugin, as listed in my WP interface in the Plugins section is called "Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget", however the plugin folder is "genesis-featured-content-widget".
Hi, I was able to fix the errors. Can't remember exactly what I did, but if you google the error, you'll find a fix. Here is a link to one fix: https://wpsites.net/best-plugins/bug-fix-genesis-featured-content-widget-fatal-error-call-to-undefined-function-genesis_get_option/
Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/genesis-sandbox-featured-content-widget-master/gs-featured-content-widget.php on line 84
This just started in the last few weeks. Strangely, error occurs only on mobile. I have genesis installed and have a genesis child theme. I updated plugin to latest from github 1.2.4.
Previously, I had the version 1.1.8 available on wordpress.com
wordpress 4.4.2, genesis 2.2.7
Thanks
