Write a script for managing local copies of this repo. Should do things like:
calling the command for compiling .ssh/config (cf., #1)
calling the command for compiling what the real number of colors a terminal supports is (cf., #2). I say "compiling" since we want to do this only when we're starting to use a new terminal, not every time we fire up a new shell.
calling other sorts of things to compile out details that can't be easily put into the files themselves (e.g., #7)
obviating the local/bin/_check_dotfiles_repo.sh script to compare a repo against the files in $HOME
helpful wrappers for pulling from github without messing up local changes (rebase is too finicky and leaves things in a bad state when it fails)
