Large differences of simulated fields (U, V, W, T) with lightning_option = 3 (LPI) on and off #1230

I used WRF4.1.5 to simulate days with observed convection activity. One of the diagnostics I am interested in analysing is LPI (lightning_option = 3). I've noticed large differences in simulated fields (U, V, W, T, ...) with lightning_option = 3 on and off, even though LPI is a diagnostic variable. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before? If so, any recommendation on how to fix this problem?

@bmalecic Given the suggestions that I initially had below, please move this over to the WRF Forum: forum.mmm.ucar.edu. Add your attached namelist file, and include difference plots of a couple of fields that you mentioned. I'll leave this issue open until we resolve what is happening.

The forum takes a day to manually process for first-time contributors. Afterwards the back-and-forth responses can be fairly quick.
