Distraction-free feature broken in WM 3.0.10 #321

I updated to WM 3.0.10 and it completely broke the core feature of WM. When I start typing the sidebars disappear but they return almost immediately after I pause causing a great amount of distraction. Am I missing some setting? I skipped a few versions - can I go back to a previous version to get the old behavior back? Of course, ideally, I'd love to have a keyboard shortcut to hide/show the sidebars at will - like in the old version.

Use Command palette - Toggle fade user interface to disable this. F9 will toggle sidebars. i.

Thanks, I didn't know about F9 but this does only solve one part of my problem. I very often want to refer to the headings outline to navigate but the F9 changes the layout of the document which makes this very distracting to go between the two.

I would very much like a shortcut that triggers a fade or better still a pop up with just the heading structure - ideally searchable and keyboard friendly for ease of navigation.

Or at least, go back to the long fade out - I learned to live with that.

Hey, Can't you use play around with settings_main.json (in the settings folder of WM) and set ui_autofadein_delay to a much higher value? I personally have it set to 30000 (30 seconds). If I want the user interface to reappear quickly I just tap F9 twice quickly.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed. I had the fadeout set in previous version but forgot it had to be done in the settings and couldn't find it in the interface. Not ideal but by far the best solution.

Still my ideal solution is a shortcut pop up for just the headings navigation that automatically lets me navigate with a keyboard. Just like the old version. I don't need any of the other features nearly as often.

F10 toggles documents/jumps pane. When jumps is active, TAB will move you back to the text. i.
