Just tried Apostrophe (erstwhile UberWriter). Mature application for Linux. Pros:

Minimalistic view while writing
Distraction free writing: Hemingway mode (no edits allowed), Focus mode (fades previous sentences and centers text).
Preview toggle and different layouts
Exports and previews with pandoc and mathjax

Cons:
