How can I use FontAwesome icons as labels for virtual desktops?

Solution found:

  1. Install a NerdFont (fonts that contains all FontAwesome icons) - tested with FiraCode only
  2. Select the NerdFont as a custom font in the settings
  3. Search for icon glyphs here: https://www.nerdfonts.com/cheat-sheet
  4. Copy the icons and paste them as names for the virtual desktops
