With the zotero-open-pdf plugin, the item's context menu includes an option to "Open in External/Internal Viewer".

I guess we don't need to duplicate that function in Zutilo.

(There's also the ZoteroQuickLook plugin which adds a keyboard shortcut for opening attachments in an external viewer. It's currently unmaintained, though. See https://github.com/mronkko/ZoteroQuickLook/issues/44.)

Nice to learn about @retorquere's zotero-open-pdf plugin. Even if this means that Zutilo doesn't need to duplicate that functionality, it would be great if Zutilo could make available a shortcut to that function. Not sure what this would take but I noticed that Zutilo recognises Zotfile (and makes it possible to assign a shortcut to at least one of its functions). It would be great if that were possible for the 'Open PDF in external viewer' option added by zotero-open-pdf, too.
