Calculating sum of values when selected yes value

I am using excel to design odk form

I need to calculate sum of values that are assigned to each question when yes 
is selected.

if a person has suffered throat infection and select yes, he is assigned with 
value 1.27. now for more than 3 variables i need to calculate the total score 
when is yes but when no it will be 0 value to each and the calculation can give 
the total as well.

Help me with the formula of the means i can do this arithmnetic.

Thinking of adding default integer values that can be used when yes is selected 
to calculate the sum of those yes values
