accented characters in Istok not displaying properly #142

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Type Fernand Léger

The accent aigu (acute accent) appears to the left of the character, in this
case it appears in between the "L" and the "e" although at least it is at the
correct vertical position. The acute accent over the "o" however is correct.

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.8 using Safari, Chrome and Firefox but also noticed it
on another Mac using OS X 10.7.

This seems to be similar to Issue 87 which was previously closed and marked as
fixed http://code.google.com/p/googlefontdirectory/issues/detail?id=87

I also have this problem in OS X with Firefox, Chrome and Safari. I see the
problem occurring on:

- Acute accents (é)
- Grave accents (è, à, etc.)
- Circumflex (â, ô, etc.)

Same problem with umlaut u ("ü"). Uppercase Ü works fine, lowercase ü misses
both dots above the letter. See attachment (Istok in Typecast).

Your demo shows the same (buggy) behavior as described in the bug report on Mac
OS 10.6.8, Google Chrome 36.0.1985.125, see screenshot.
