Merriwheater font colon changes to middot #261

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Anytime.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Anytime I type a colon ( : ), it is a middot ( · ) that is displayed.

Please provide any additional information below.
It seems to be a font issue. Or maybe it is a display issue. I work on OSX
10.6.8 and this problem happens on the Internet in general (or Wordpress in
particular) as well as offline, let's say, in InDesign.

Merriweather, not Merriwheater, sorry.

I can't reproduce this - could you provide a URL where you see it and a
screenshot? :)

Well... I don't quite understand what happened. When I wrote about the issue
here, this morning, the problem occurred both on one of my sites and — that's
what made me post here — in the Test Drive section at Google Fonts. After
further readings, I think the problem has been resolved after I updated the
Merriweather font on my hard drive Library. The issue has been signaled (here:
http://ebensorkin.wordpress.com/2011/07/28/got-any-requests/) to the creator of
the font and he apparently updated it. I just downloaded the newest version on
Google Fonts and it seems to have fixed the problem. Sorry for the
inconvenience...
