TIMELINE. IE displays "Object expected" error #141

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

The timeline at http://www.chhaya.org/rn/timeline.pl?q=infosys gets
displayed correctly (with some display problems, see bug#20) in Firefox but
displays an error message in IE.

The pop-up error message says:

Line: 342
Char: 5
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.chhaya.org/rn/timeline.pl?q=infosys

and no data is displayed.

Any idea on what might be causing this error?

Thanks,

I believe I am seeing this same error. I have created a timeline based on
Compact
Painter. It previously displayed in both FF and IE7 before, but IE7 now gives
three
errors, each saying:
Message: Object expected
Line: 1830
Char: 52
Code: 0
URI: http://api.simile-widgets.org/ajax/2.2.1/simile-ajax-bundle.js

It even happens when I copy your compact painter files to my server and try to
replicate your exact timeline (see
http://medinformatics.uthscsa.edu/betas/compact-
painter/compact-painter.html).

Has there been a recent change that is making this timeline only work on your
server
and not other servers?

thanks

bob

I think, now I'm seeing the same issue.

Previously I tested this code in all the browser (IE, FF, Safari) and it worked
just
as expected with no errors. But this morning (May 18, 2010), I got the same
issue
that you guys was facing saying "Object Expected" or "Object doesnt support..."
in
all browser but FF.

FYI, I'm using the code in my page specified in the following URL:
http://simile-
widgets.googlecode.com/svn/timeline/tags/latest/src/webapp/examples/compact-
painter/compact-painter.html

I believe some recent changes impacted this causing such a weird behavior and I
guess the team already started pondering over.

Any kind of help/comment is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Arnab
