We stopped working on it because Ubuntu has coded its own version which is
cleaner and now has more features (LibreOffice and Firefox support)

got you.
but i have to tell u a bad news about translation. ur translation of French is
not complete. some of its items are missed.
the total lines of original language file is 173,but u only translated 64 of
them.
i have uploaded the full version of language file,please check it under
download menu.

i'm a little bit busy with my work these days, but i promise i will be a user
of Launchpad soon,my friend. i know that's a great community for open source
projects. and i am really happy that i could be one of them and make my
contributions to open source projects and Ubuntu.

I merged the two files using LibreOffice Calc, and kept translating. Still not
finished though.
A piece of advice: for stuff like:
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_html = Télécharger en HTML
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_jpeg = Télécharger en JPEG
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_odt = Télécharger en ODT
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_pdf = Télécharger en PDF
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_png = Télécharger en PNG
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_rtf = Télécharger en RTF
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_svg = Télécharger en SVG
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_txt = Télécharger en TXT
panel.pnl_document.downad_as_word = Télécharger en Word
You could try to merge those strings as one on the application side.
