Support rules with extensions containing dots #234

Currently at least one generator (ninja) doesn't seem to handle extensions with 
dots in them.
If there's no fundamental obstacle, we might want to consider allow this.
One issue to resolve would be how overlapping extensions work (ie *.gtest.js + 
*.js)
Alternatively, if we decide not to support this, we should detect it and emit a 
useful error.
