Hmmm, according to https://docs.mathjax.org/en/latest/input/tex/macros/index.html#t \text
should be supported. But if this gives you trouble, try \textrm
.
This must be a pdf-rendering issue. In a tex-thread someone said to include the amsmath package. I don't know how to do that in Roxygen though (do you?).
Using \textrm
instead of \text
worked! If there is no significant reason for me to use \text
over \textrm
, I'll consider this solved, thanks :)
There are some subtle differences to various methods for producing text in math mode:
As noted earlier, \text
doesn't seem to work and \textnormal
doesn't render (but without throwing an error). Based on my testing, \textrm
and \mathrm
both work fine.
I don't know if this is a
mathjaxr
problem or if I messed up in the submission process, but my documentation seems to render fine in RStudio anddevtools::check()
does not appear to be mad about anything.Only if I run
devtools::check_win_release()
ordevtools::check_mac_release()
do I get an undefined control sequence error (I think it's complaining about\text
).The problematic documentation might be this one.
And I think the relevant error message may be this one:
Here's the whole build log.
For the last error trace I get:
In my package DESCRIPTION I made sure to add
mathjaxr
.For
devtools::build_manual()
I only get anError: Failed to build manual
- nothing else.Did I forget anything?
