Implemented the button functionality in 90cf1040acad.
Still have to implement a "Page Properties" button. Reopening this issue.

@dmolsen - Is this slated for delivery any time soon? This would be really helpful, especially now that the workflow pattern has been established where you can edit a single page by clicking an editor link within that page.
@joshrcook -
I'll follow-up with @adamjohnson and see what's on his plate.
+1 @nreckart @adamjohnson Would you please consider adding a "Page Properties" link in the editors toolbar? I know this feature would greatly improve the speed of our workflow when making edits to pages. A lot of our sites use custom data fields and having access to these properties within the editor would keep us from having to bounce back and forth from the "Pages" section and then to the "Edit Page" and then back to the "Pages" section to make an update to the layout or options in the custom data fields.
The likelihood of this being implemented for the existing Mercury editor implementation is nil. A process and associated UI for managing custom page data will be considered with other, ongoing editor enhancement discussions.
