Plan: Identity integration

Again, only a PLAN for this task!

• How shall the identities be available in gui?
• How shall their relation with the activity saved to the database?
• What should the posted activity look like? How to see which account name belongs to the identity?

I'll just leave a few thoughts here: They can be made available by a drop-down list with the chosen alias from the settings-page or the chosen username. If a valid API-Key has been provided, the list can include the gw2 account-name and all available character names. This drop-down would appear on all 'new activity' and 'edit activity' pages.

I'd save them in a lookup table, so every activity is still saved in its standard form and all activities will stay compatible to each other. This should be implemented by a module, not as part of the activities themselves.

How should it look? Hmm, I believe each Identity should have the option to have their own picture of course. I'd simply post the original username after the identity-name and put it in brackets.

Not so sure how we should handle deleted characters. should names revert to the original account name if the gw2 character has been deleted? what about old/historical posts? should this be checked? Can it even be checked? what about name-change contracts? should this be considered at all?

Hmm, I'd suggest using this feature should require the user to provide an API key. So no manual characters/aliases or stuff needs to be maintained. I like the idea with the dropdown box. First option should be the username on Website, second the Accountname and under it the belonging characters tabbed one to the right if you know what I mean? About placement, what about there:
