Show guild message of the day on front page #50

Now that we have some wonderful API functions I'd very much like having the message of the day shown on front page :)

What frontpage? The activity screen? That welcome page?? :) Where?

This is only achievable with a hack at the moment, by using the log. For this to work the message has to be changed regularly.

When typing that issue I thought it would be a great idea. Now I am not so sure anymore not only because I wouldn't know where to put this... Well, let's close it?

Maybe we can put it as a shout from EoL? the MotD is changed quite regularly, but in case it isn;t, can;t we just save the last one to the server?

we'd have to remove all sensitive data from the message of the day. Or only show it to registered users that have linked their website account to their gw2-account through the api?

Displaying it as an EoL shout and showing it only to registered users sounds like a good solution to me. +1

That could work. Maybe another way is creating a filter for the TS adress and the password, so that that cannot be displayed anywhere on the website. Exchanging those characters with 5 asterisks (*****) wherever they pop up. I might be thinking too difficult, or it could be hard to implement, so whatever is easier is probably best.
