Birthday Calendar! For seeing our guildies' real life birthdays (for those that choose to share them) and maybe character birthdays for your own characters?

Hmm we could integrate this as an ActionMessage (a planned feature). Leaving the birthday field in profile blank should result in no ActionMessage ofc. I like the idea to know when someone has birthday :) +1 Evo? If we do this - it should be part of the ActionMessage Milestone I guess.

If we integrate Real Birthdays, we shall also integrate Steam Wishlists and Amazon Lists ^^ Personally I don't care about Birthdays, they only kinda seem to create stress where none is needed, but if you guys would like this to be a part of the website, sure.

Shall it be like something in some forums then, with a small message in the stream saying "EoL wishes Kakirtog a happy Birthday, please send him ingame gifts!"?

I wouldn't want a real calendar with all birthdays listed though, it should be a 'thing of the moment' in my opinion :)

Maybe we can do an optional calendar? That way the people that want to share their birthday and see those of other people can, but you can hide it as well if you don;t want anything to do with that. Imo we need a calendar for events anyway, we might as well add this to it.

Tbh a message like that feels kinda arbitrary, I'd rather have it be an announcement like 'Today is Kakirtog's Birthday! Congratulations!'

You forgot the 'send him gifts' part g what good is a Birthday without gifts? Coming to think about this, I believe I want this now as well. Finally a day where I can send you a gift without the risk of you sending one back 🔙 ;-)

I like the message Kakir suggested, I wouldn't want a message with a force to send someone gifts in, but that's just my personal opinion. Anyone should feel free to send gift but not have the feeling 'EoL expects you to do this ;'. Birthday calendar would be cool too, but I guess the general calendar feature needs some thinkthrough still hm?

I have added a simple input field in settings allowing to set the birthday.

How should the Birthday calendar look like? where should it be shown? How shall the announcements look like?

Announcement should just be a short message stating it's XXX's birthday. Birthday calendar should be shown on the general calendar, unless that will be scrapped, then we'll have to rethink it. Maybe we can have a small area with upcoming birthdays for members, looking about 15 days into the future (not everyone checks the website daily after all).
