Here's a commit that lays out the pros and cons of incorporating power into baggr, as discussed in issue #146. Overall, I think it might be useful in some instances, but not all the time. power_calc_example() lays out my rationale with a possible implementation using the Yusuf et al dataset as an example, with further reasoning given in its documentation.
