Hello,

i was wondering if it would be possible to add a plugin that can "simulate" tube gear (adding distortion only) or maybe there is already a plugin for that i dont know yet?

There is not plugin for this at the moment.

I have never tried to add this kind of effect. Maybe there is an impulse response file in the internet hat could do something in this direction in the convolver.

i think something like the calf studio plugin "saturator" is what we need for adding harmonic distortion

i looked into the impulse responses aka amp sims but im unsure if this gets me "true tube amp" sound, i think we just wanna add distortion and not cab sims etc

Hey. I think I've discovered something similar that actually works, but I'd appreciate an explanation of what's going on under the hood. I've mapped a midi controller, specifically an encoder, to the volume of the pc. Using the controller I can get the volume above 100%, something I can't do with the keyboard. Using this and lowering the volume on the sound card, I can get a nice saturated/distorted sound that I really like, especially with techno music. I think this is due to digital clipping and not the best way to do it, but the results were quite impressive

I think this is due to digital clipping

Based on the procedure it seems the most likely cause.
